This cocktail is like reading a book next to a well-maintained fire. Sweet, spice, and it’ll warm your up from the inside out. Chai, citrus, warm rye whiskey, and an aroma that pulls you in like a blanket of campfire smoke make this cocktail something special, yet so simple to make at home.
NUTURED FLAME COCKTAIL
– 5 oz Boiling water
– 1 Chai Tea Bag (We use Tazo Organic Chai, but we find that flavored chais like pumpkin or apple are equally delicious also!)
– 2 Orange Peels, expressed
– ½ oz 5-Spiced Syrup (this is simple to make, and you can use more or less of certain spices you enjoy)
– 2 oz Rye Whiskey (Rittenhouse is our house favorite, but you can use your favorite rye or bourbon to taste)
Steep your tea, orange peels, and syrup together. Remove the tea bag and add your bourbon or rye. Give it a little stir, give it a little sip! Leave the orange peels in to allow them to develop the drink’s intricate flavor further as it cools. Enjoy your mug-full, or your crockpot full. CHEERS!
